Considering a move to Vegas from LA area?

I am considering moving to Vegas from southern Cali (south OC). I live in a nice area, but I've got $300,000 cash from my equity and considering the high prices of homes in LA and the wish not to pay any mortgage, I am thinking about moving to Vegas because I can get a really nice paid-off house, plus keep considerable amount of cash in my pocket from my equity. My only concern is that's there's no beach, but most importantly my main issue is the job market. I keep hearing the bad news about Vegas job market, but that's from 4 years ago or so. I am not sure how the job market has changed after the recession? With the lower prices and a paid-off house with a paid-off brand new car, all I need is a job. I'm a college grad with a Bachelors and looking into administrative job market. How's the job hunt in Vegas now? I'd like to get a realistic advice about job situation there from people who actually have experience with the CURRENT job market. I like LA, but the type of housing I will get for $300,000 for a 3 bdr condo/townhouse that's paid off, it will be in a dump lol. I lived in a really nice upscale neighborhood in OC, but I'm only looking to get a place with the equity, so I can't do that here anymore. Vegas' housing seems like a great match to the price, unlike in LA where a $300,000 will get you an average condo in an average neighborhood (if you're lucky!).
