Hi im 22 years old and work full time while going to school. I live with my mom and support her with the bills. We currently rent an apt in Los Angeles for about $1200/mo. I think thats absolutely ridiculous when we can be paying that amount towards a small house. I make about 30k/yr (before taxes) and my mom makes about the same but she gets paid under the table so there is no record of her income. We are considered low-income family, obviously. We have never owned a house before so this would be our first time and i have no idea how to get started. Is it even possible for us to own a small house with a low mortgage payments that range from 1100-$1300? If so, can anyone please help me out and expand on this? Like wat kind of programs do they offer? Talk english ppl! Thanks.
