I live in the UK.
I want to put an offer on a house and ideally have the house taken off the market.
The estate agent is asking me to bring in the following paperwork in order to make the offer:
ID,
proof of address,
3 months bank statements,
3 months pay slips
proof of your deposit
solicitors details
I understand the PoA and ID and mortgage offer from my bank. But does an estate agent really need to see the other documents. I only want to place an offer on a house.
Surely the other document (ie bank statements and proof of deposit) are documents I provide to my bank and solicitor and not to an estate agent to make a mortgage offer.
Times have changed since I bought my first house so would be grateful for feedback.
