i have a daughter that just turned 18. Had a phone interview and was asked how much do I used for rent of her check I told them 250. I got a letter that says her payment went from 587 to 238. When I called to ask why they told me that her check should only be used for rent and utility bills. Not for gas for her doctor appts. Not for clothes, phone anything else. I find that odd because from what I read ssdi should be for anything she needs first shelter and food then for what ever else she needs like clothes, phone bill other expenses. Can anyone tell me should appeal this
Added (1). I am using her check to pay rent, light, water house hold expenses that is why I am in shock that they would lower her payments. I guess in the phone interview I was not clear with them. I am a competent payee. For that rude comment. The rep just asked about rent did not ask about food, light, water anything else. I will go by office tomorrow with all the proof… And be clear because I save all my paper work and finances… Thanks for the help Judith
