How much should I charge for rent? And best approach to this situation?

I just recently bought a house for around $218,000. It is a 5 bedroom house, and I'm planning to rent out 4 of the bedrooms to 4 of my friends. I don't want them thinking that I'm making them pay for my rent because it's different since I'm actually buying the house and its not rent that I am paying, its mortgage. I brought up the idea of $400/month and they questioned about how it doesn't make sense 5 people paying $400 will be way over the amount needed for rent. So what is the best approach for this? And what do you think is a reasonable amount to charge them for rent? (utilities included)
