Can past debts affect my mortgage appliation in Britain? How far back do they look in your debt history?
Between 2005 and 2007 I got in a huge amount of debt with loan companies, catalogues, etc. I was thousands of pounds in debt. I never paid one penny back.
Bailiffs looked for me but never found me. I changed address and number. I didn't care. I was partying a lot back then and was never in one place for too long.
But today I care, I got children to look after and a good permanent job to keep.
I want a mortgage to buy a house.

Ex Wife's Name on Title Deeds?
I bought a piece of land 30 years ago and my ex wife's name was on the title deeds. We divorced and I gave her a mortgage free house, taking all the debt with me. I did not realise her name was on the deeds until last year. I have a house and other buildings on the land now and have multiplied it's value. It is clear in the affidavit that she also thought the field was solely in my name. The issue is now going to court. Does she have any ownership in this situation?

When applying for a personal loan, what do I claim my expenses are?
My partner and I own a house (the mortgage is in both our names) and our monthly expenses, which we split evenly, total about $1300 combined.
If I apply for a small personal loan under my own name and they ask what my expenses are (mortgage, utilities, etc.) can I say it's half of the $1300 (since I only pay half) or do I have say my expenses are $1300 ?
Added (1). I should also add - I'm not applying for the loan through the same bank that has our mortgage

Should i get a decision/mortgage in prinicple?
I'm told having one makes me a more attractive/serious buyer. However, i'm also told it expires after 90 days amd affects my credit score. Should i get one it expires, would a second one knock my score? As a result, should i get one once a make a formal offer on a house.

What can I do to convince my dad to retire when his business keeps losing money?
He used to borrow money from his dad to keep his business afloat and to pay his mortgage. The business has never been successful.
Now he keeps having to extend the line of credit on his and my mom's house to keep his business afloat. If they sold the house (valued at about $1 million) and moved into a smaller house, they wouldn't have money problems. The house and property are commercially zoned so the business would have to fold too.
However, he says that he would rather have a stroke behind the wheel of his truck than retire and that if he didn't have his business his life would have no meaning. He's 66. My mom is upset and hates the stress of constantly being in debt and not having money for groceries

Can you ever get back together with your ex husband?
I'm divorced but I'm still friends with my ex husband. When we were married he worked and put me through college. My ex husband used his contacts in business to find me the ideal job when I graduated from college. I did well in that job and got promoted several times.
I recently received an inheritance and I felt a moral obligation to repay my ex husband some of the money he spent on putting me through college. I gave my former husband $50,000 from my inheritance. He did not want to take it but I insisted. Then something happened that just blew me away.
I got a letter that my condo mortgage of $50,000 had been paid in full. I could not figure out how that happened until I remembered that my ex husband was still on the mortgage. The bank told me he came in with a cashiers check for $50,000 and paid off my mortgage. Now I have a house free and clear.
My single girlfriends that I told about this wanted to know if I would be upset if they dated him. They said he sounds like a GREAT GUY and they can't understand why I had divorced him. I'm now giving a lot of thought of trying to get back together with him. I think I made a BIG mistake divorcing him. I was very young when we divorced. I'm MUCH more mature now.
What do you think of my odds of getting back with him.

If market interest rates tripled would you personally be better off or worse off?
In other words you can now put your savings in a bank and make triple the return. Fixed mortgages will stay the same
Unless you're very very stupid and have ccdebt or car debt or college debt or medical when you could have found care within your means,
I assume most of you want higher not lower interest rates. So why is the Fed not raising em faster?
