It is complete enslavement in my opinion, because you are absolutely TRAPPED, you lose all mobility in life. Not to mention the monotonous, soul-sucking routine of it which goes on for decades. This is why most people in that situation always reminisce on their teenage and high school years because it was the only time they felt free in life.
