Hi
I am currently considering a zero hours contract but I am not sure if it is the best option for me. It's a great opportunity for me to get my foot in the door.
However, I have the following concerns:-
1) I need to pay for full time childcare for a two year old at a private nursery as too young for pre-school and 15 free hours is not eligible for one year.
2) they verbally stated I'll be guaranteed full time hours but it will not be stated on contract.
3) my partner is a self-employed worker. So two of us with no sick, no holiday, etc…
We have a family to feed, a car to run and mortgage to pay but not sure whether I'll be making the right discussion. I am looking for someone's opinion who is or has worked on this contract. List the pros and cons for me too would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks xx
