I am buying my first house near detroit, and am a little confused. I am not doing a mortgage but instead a land contract. The Wayne county register of deeds website says that all land contracts must be "certified for payment of property taxes by the Wayne County Treasurer before recording with our office"… What the heck does that mean? And do I have to actually go into the office to get this done, or can I fax it over? Any help would be appreciated!
