Would I be free if I left my life?

I'm an adult by the way, and this isn't a serious question. I'm just curious.

Basically what im saying is, if a kid at age 17 decided to leave home and his current life before he accumulated any debts, started working, signing contracts, bills, anything where his name was signed to anything and he detached himself from society before he became apart of it. And packed only necessities so that he would live on his own in a remote land, forest, or island. Given that he already knows how to survive and can provide for food himself, via hunting, and scavenging. And know home remedies to keep healthy. And even built a cabin for himself to live in Would he technically be free?

free in the sense that he has no obligations, such as paying a mortgage, electricity, and food bills. Doesn't have to worry about how much money he has in a bank.
working a 9 - 5 job or any other job to make ends meet, the necessity of insurance, and free from the grasp of the media. He just lived on his own rules and morals: hunt, plant, gather wood for fire, be inside at dark, eat, sleep, be free and happy.
