Because someone pays the mortgage does that mean they have the right to move into a house?

Basically my girlfriends mum and dad have divorced, the dad left two years ago and doesnt pay child maintenance or any sort of money for the children but is paying the mortgage, the mother owns the rights to the house and the deeds. The mother has recent taken it upon herself to go and live with her new boyfriend leaving three children over the age of 16 at home. Since the mother doesnt come home the Dad thinks he has the right to move back into the property because he pays the mortgage Views?
