Is 60,000 a year a good starting salary?

My husband is graduating soon and his company he interns for offered him a job at 60,000/year.

It sounds really great, but we are living in barely 20,000 right now so anything seems better than that obviously.

We own two cars which are paid off, but would love to be able to buy a new one since both of ours are pretty old. We own our home with a mortgage of $950. We also have one child and would love to expand our family once he finishes school.

Based on that information, will we be able to live comfortably on this salary? I.e Travel, have money to go out, etc?

Sorry if this is a silly question! And than,s in advance for any answers.
Added (1). Oh and my husband is graduating with his Civil Engineering degree. From what we've heard, he will get a raise within a couple years. Is this true? Do most companies give fairly good raises?
