Am I allowed to contact my husband through a third party when there is a no contact order?

My husband was abusive, and one time I finally called the cops. My husband took off and his family his him away for a week, until I finally tipped off the police. They got him in custody. But now there is a no contact order. Is it okay if we communicate through our parents or a mediator? I ask this because he's left me stuck with a house to pay for. We used to pay half each, and I can't afford the entire thing. So I have to communicate with him somehow so that I can sell it (mortgage is in both our names)
