We can't afford Obama care and get no assistance…what are our options?
I just started a new job with an agency and a 1099… I'm considered self employed so no health insurance. Husband's health insurance is not affordable at all and is the bare minimum required. I applied for Obama are for my husband and I.our one year old is on medicaid with a premium. The first problem is that my pay varies from month to month depending on the cases I have. There is no way of tracking or predicting this amount. The second issue is when I took the median amount, the lowest health insurance quote was completely unaffordable for us. We live in NJ, we have a huge mortgage, debt, 2 car payments, day care and 1000+ in bills. In whole we are cash poor with no savings as everything left goes to pay debt (it's a cycle, unfortunately) They determine who qualifies based on household size and income… They don't ask our mortgage or bills. We need health insurance desperately. I'm having complications and need medical attention. What can we do? Surely I am not the only one in this circumstance? Any info would be appreciated. We've been denied medicaid and Obama care offers an 80$ a month tax credit.
