Why are conservatives so eager to pretend that they receive no benefit from the taxes they pay?

If your parents or grandparents are on medicare and social security, if your children haven't died of smallpox or polio, if you received student loans… Or an FHA mortgage, or a public education… If the national weather service has warned you in time… If you've vacationed in a national park… If courts have protected your company's patents or trademarks, if you've received social security, if you or your father or grandfather received the GI bill, if your water is drinkable, and your workplace is safe… The list goes on and on and on… You benefit as much from taxpayer-funded government as anybody else.
