How long do i have to be a state resident to own a home in that state? Not rent but pay mortgage to own?

I currently live in NYC and plan on moving to Georgia. My credit score is sufficient enough for me to make preparations to pay mortgage but is there a requirement that says i have to be living or working in that state for a certain amount of time before i can own a home?
