For example, if the dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer, all need repair, does that make the house a fixer-upper such that it wouldn't qualify for some mortgages, such as FHA? My theory is that it shouldn't matter because the equipment is optional. Because the seller could simply remove the equipment and say it doesn't come with the house. But if the seller leaves it, and leaves it up to the buyer to fix it, does that disqualify it from being considered "move in ready" for the purposes of getting that kind of mortgage?
