I was approved for USDA financing through a mortgage co in NH that was on the USDA site as a certified lender. I found a great house and started the process. I paid $475 to have the house inspected and paid the bank $460 for them to perform assessment. 2 week before the closing the mortgage lady informs me that USDA would not touch this house because the square footage was too low. The square footage was clearly on the assessment among other various documents from the very beginning of the process.
I had already given my notice to my landlady. She had already rented my apartment so staying was not an option. I stayed at a campground for 2 weeks and I am currently staying with a friends uncle until I can find something.
I know all of this could have been avoided.
Any suggestions on what I can do about this?
