I am taking a database management class, it is in intro, so we are learning MS Access and database management theory with a textbook. It is a lot more difficult than I had anticipated. The teach also wants s to write a paper on how certain industries or companies manage their databases.
I am thinking about asset securitization, that is how banks make bonds out of mortgages or credit card receivables. I understand the general concept of pooling of assets but I was only able to find one or two items covering software and it is a little technical. I need a basic primer.
I am not sure how I should organize it. Should I talk about normalization and how the primary keys are determined, and other basic concepts in as part of the pooling process?
Is there an easier topic such as how companies manage customer data in marketing coupons for customers who sign up for reward cards?
Any ideas on where I can get the research?
