I raised my son alone and fully supported him on my own. He's a good man now. He's 18 and been at the same job since age 16 and has gotten 2 raises already (he now makes $9 an hour and his only bill is car insurance and gas/upkeep on his car). I feel as long as he is being productive in socity (by working ) and we get along (we always do) and he does not ask me for money (he doesn't) then he can live at home with me rent free as long as needed (he's a senior in high school now anyway ). I still buy the groceries and pay the mortgage and utilites/cable/internet. But he's not home much so it's still much cheaper than years before. My friends and family say if I don't charge him something to help with bills once he gradutates high school in the spring, he will never want to move out. I disagree I think he will get sick of me and get out when he's ready haha.
