Can my husband Co-sign a mortgage loan without my signature?

My parents in laws who is living in Arizona want to buy a house. They ask me and my husband add our name to a loan with them. I DISAGREE. But my husband does
Is there any way they can do that without my consent. Do they need my signature on the papers?

P/s: I am an not the US resident. I am an international student. We are doing a papers to get my green card now. Estimate, I will have a green card in 2 months from now
