Can i challenge a decision made about a structural survey by the mortgage company?
I paid for a valuation survey on a house I am trying to buy. The valuer asked for a structural survey as he said the first floor was out of true. I got a structural survey which said some of the floors are uneven but there was no sign of movement or cracking and the house didn't need to have anything done because it was purely aesthetic.
The structural survey went back to the valuer who is standing by his report so the mortgage company won't lend on it. What was the point of us paying for a structural survey if he can over rule it anyway?
