I just bought a house in the $350k - $400k range. I put down over 50% and my mortgage payment is going to be about $1,750/month. I have two friends who said they will live with me. Both of them are currently in a situation where they have a very good deal, and they are paying much less each month than 99% of the people in the area would normally expect to pay. What I will be asking them will definitely be a couple hundred dollars/month more than they are currently paying to live, which seems like a huge jump for them. Even though it will seem high to them, for the property they will be living in, in comparison to average living costs in the area, they will still be getting a deal. I'm not sure what a fair number will be. Help!
Added (1). Just for reference… An average 3 bedroom apartment in the area is, on average, about $2,800/month total.
