My house closing is next month. The time when I purchased this property i got a mortgage gift of $30000 from my Aunt "Real estate agent"on a written "gift letter" of CIBC bank. But now she want her money back and is threatening me through lawyer that she will take stay or put lien in my property. Can she stop my closing? I've the original gift letter with me and had not written anything for her that I owe her any sort of money. Can she move to court without notifying me? Is this any type of civil case? I don't have money to hire a lawyer at this point.I'm selling of my home, because I need to pay off my bank debts. Please help!
