Wanted Advice: Ways an American/Canadian couple can legally live in the USA?
Hello,
I'm an American and met my Canadian boyfriend in Canada last year and we have decided to take our relationship to the next level. He works and lives in Canada and I work/live in the States. If he wants to move to the United States (meaning quits his job there) so we can live together in the States, what are some options? He makes more money than I do, so IâÂÂm nervous if we get âÂÂstuckâ and I have to support us both/pay the mortgage while we wait for visa approval. Marriage is definitely in the picture, but the biggest problem is that we have to wait 5 months for his divorce to be finalized in Canada. Ideally (due to the long distance and infrequent visits) we would like to live together here before marriage. That means heâÂÂll need a job. So question one (1): Any suggestions on ways to get my bf here quickly in the States before marriage? Or will marriage be the best/quickest way for him to get here. If so, question two (2): what is the quickest/easiest way for a US citizen to marry a Canadian and live in the States? The K-1 Visa has been a very popular find among my searches, however, IâÂÂve come across the option of marrying him in Canada and bringing him back to the States? Bringing him back seems like a much easier way to me- whatâÂÂs the catch? All ideas/suggestions/help is much appreciated!
