Decree Nisi was pronounced yesterday. In 6 weeks I should be able to apply for absolute.
I won't be able to apply for absolute because finances have not been settled. There is only a house with small amount of equity to be decided. I've made an offer to her via email, text and even her solicitor for past two months - I've not received any response.
If she agrees, I can get a consent order drawn up with that agreement, or if she wishes to do it differently, I can discuss that too. Either way I am anxious to get it done because i am paying the mortgage and bills all by myself at the moment whilst she is living there. She not budging, not deciding to move out, it is as if nothing has changed (although she did accept the divorce petition and responded on time).
I already feel that it will now take longer than 6 week as first she has to agree, then a consent order needs to be drafted, then she needs to sign it, then it needs to go to court and then sealed at court.
She is NOT discussing it what so ever, goes around in circles and her lawyer just keeps telling me that he is awaiting response from her.
My offer is completely straight forward and works in her favour as I've known her a long time and don't wish her any less. I just don't know why she is causing such distress. I don't want to go to court at all, she has said she doesn't either but then just ignores all the offers made to her!
I never used a lawyer in this, but don't know what they would do either.
