My mortgage was sold by Citibank to Seterus which is supposedly a collection agency. I make and planning to make all the payments cause I really want to keep the house. Now, after divorce and not being able to find a job after college I failed with payments for most of my credit cards. I'm not able to pay it anytime soon and I'm sure it will all go to collection agencies. Can creditors sue me and put a lien on my house while it is still mortgaged for another 20 years and it is owned by Seterus?
Added (1). Can collection agency put a lien on the house which mortgage is owned by another collection agency?
