My lender imposed forced-place homeowners insurance on my home for four years assuming I had no insurance coverage. In fact I did. I provided proof of homeowners insurance from the insurance company I use.
The mortgage company sent a letter stating that the insurance they placed was cancelled and that "the account was refunded" for the periods in question. The total amounts to about $4,900 for four different years. I have not seen a refund check. If the "account was refunded" shouldn't I expect a check for the duplicate premiums I paid? What should I do?
