How to encourage my husband in a loving way to get a job?

My husband quit his job to start his own business. I have been supporting us for months and going into steep credit card debt. When I bring up the subject and tell him to get a job, he says he doesn't like the way I talk to him and "I kill him the way I talk to him". He needs to get a job until his so called "business" is off the ground. I cannot keep going like this or I will be in financial ruin. How do I handle this?
Added (1). I am $41k in credit card debt by the way and getting worse!
Added (2). If I mention money, he says it's all my fault for buying things we don't need. The only thing I buy is food and a few Halloween decorations! Still, I don't think that justifies him not paying for his cell phone bill, half utilities, mortgage, food, etc!
