We have a scheduled closing in 3 days and the sellers lawyer discovered that a second mortgage remains outstanding or in question and the seller ( widow ) can not produce paperwork that this was paid by her late husband. Can we still close on the house? Can money be held in escow until this is resolved?

Offer on a house - paperwork?
I live in the UK.
I want to put an offer on a house and ideally have the house taken off the market.
The estate agent is asking me to bring in the following paperwork in order to make the offer:
ID,
proof of address,
3 months bank statements,
3 months pay slips
proof of your deposit
solicitors details
I understand the PoA and ID and mortgage offer from my bank. But does an estate agent really need to see the other documents. I only want to place an offer on a house.
Surely the other document (ie bank statements and proof of deposit) are documents I provide to my bank and solicitor and not to an estate agent to make a mortgage offer.
Times have changed since I bought my first house so would be grateful for feedback.

Fiance whats me to sign a prenup? I'm I being unreasonable?
Okay so my Fiance has 6 property's and a couple of business's We wanna buy our own house together. As I don't earn as much as he does, He earns £250k I earn £21k. We're buying a house that suits me something I can afford. He told me he wants me to sign a prenup, I said okay which I don't really mind. But he wants me to sign a prenup for the house we're going to live together. And he doesn't want my name on the mortgage, Even though I'm paying half of the deposit and half of all bills. I said no, There's no way I'm paying half of everything and if you ever cheat on me or end it, You get the whole house. He said I'm being a gold digger and I should just sign it to prove that I'm not. I told him I would but only the property's and the business's he has, Since they're not mine. But the house we're gonna live at, I think it's only fair I get half, Since I'm putting in half.
I'm I being unreasonable here? I feel like if I argee, I'll end up getting screwed over. Please help

I own the house with my husband but do not want to kick out my child?
well its like this, me and my husband bought our big home 3 years ago and the problem is that my 22 year old just got engaged with his fiance. I'm really happy for them but my husband thinks otherwise because he thinks they should finish school first and its not that I don't completely agree with him, it's just want them to be happy together. My son could save his money instead of wasting it on the rent outside, he and his fiance could be paying us and helping us out with the mortgage (because the house isn't paid off yet). But instead my husband is going to as far as threatening to kick our son who still has a little bit more schooling to do and so does she in order to sap away their happiness for going against "him". I definitely do not agree with the whole kicking out your child at the age of 18 should be a law, because you gave birth to them and they will always be your responsibility no matter what. Anyways point is I want to know if my husband can kick out our child, if i don't want him out (and we both own the house). Thank you!
Added (1). honestly i'm not looking for opinions on whether or not if it is a good idea to move them in or not, or to have her live with me. I love the girl that he choose, and i'm very happy that he was even mature enough to settle down with her. The house is not a problem, we all live upstairs now (its a ranch house). My son agreed with his fiance that they would carry their own weight and more, and im not too worried about that. Im just looking for an answer on whether or not my husband can kick out our kid when we both own the house and i don't want to!

How to find a competent mortgage lender?
We have been trying to buy a home that is a short sale from Ocwen Bank. Our bank is Chase. Both banks seem to be incompetent. Our closing was just delayed for the third time. Both banks look to be using overseas offices for their "customer service." We are ready to fire our agent and our bank. I tried to research which banks or mortgage companies could be better to work with. However, when I do an Internet search, I get a mess of deceit and garbage. For example, I was excited about a bank called Amerisave for a few minutes because it had a high rating on the consumeraffairs web site. I then realized that the bank paid for the higher review. Can some one recommend a way to get a less biased view? Any suggestions on banks that can process simple paperwork in a reasonable amount of time?

Has anybody else felt like this?
We are engaged to be married and had half the cost of the wedding saved when we had to change the car, we had no other choice, the engine failed and then the gearbox (long story). I don't mind if we never get married but its killing me to see my partner going out to work everyday. And before there is any judgement we have 5 kids and I don't sit at home on my *** all day, if im not keeping house im out looking for work but no one will take me one because of my limited available hours due to the family. I looked at both full and part time and childcare and my wages from full time would go on childcare and if I work part time I would need extra to pay for childcare. We live 2 and a half hours drive from my parents and both my partners parents work full time. This week its really getting to me as school fees have come in and have to be paid by next week, we are struggling as it is and I really want to do something but what? I could really do with some genuine helpful advice please? We are not entitled to any social because of my partners wages, he does get a good wage but half of the wages go on the mortgage alone every month, once all utilities, bills, shopping etc are paid we might be lucky to have 20 left each week.

She got her spouse visa on May 2012 and came to the UK August 2012, she has passed her life in UK and ESOL entry 3 course. What type of documents is needed to show the home office? My situation is me and my wife are currently living at my parents home and my income salary is £7800 a year, will this be any problems?

My mortgage lady screwed me. Can I sue her and/or the mortgage co?
I was approved for USDA financing through a mortgage co in NH that was on the USDA site as a certified lender. I found a great house and started the process. I paid $475 to have the house inspected and paid the bank $460 for them to perform assessment. 2 week before the closing the mortgage lady informs me that USDA would not touch this house because the square footage was too low. The square footage was clearly on the assessment among other various documents from the very beginning of the process.
I had already given my notice to my landlady. She had already rented my apartment so staying was not an option. I stayed at a campground for 2 weeks and I am currently staying with a friends uncle until I can find something.
I know all of this could have been avoided.
Any suggestions on what I can do about this?

My question is would it be wise to get one now? Or should I buy my own house and then invest in something… Ultimately I want my future children to be set for life its just right now im young and my thinking is immature so I would like to know what some people who have a little more experience under their belts think about how to handle this kind of money

What are my options since my investor does not participate in HAMP?
My mortgage servicer is Wells Fargo & my investor is Flushing Bank. Flushing Bank does not participate in HAMP or any other Gov. Plans to help homeowners keep their house. My house is valued at about $450,000 and I only owe $115,000 (paying 8.50% for the past 15years). I started to struggle in paying my mortgage after Hurricane Sandy hit (2012). I called WF & they told me I could take a 6 month deferment so I can get my damages & finances together. I was also advised to file for a modification because of a decrease of household income. The mod. Application could not to submitted till April 2013, it was never submitted. (Right before the def. Was to expire my engine had to be replaced. I called & informed them of my situation & was told they could extend the deferment a few months) Afterwards I kept calling & leaving messages for my point of contact & no calls were returned. In Oct. 2013 I spoke to a supervisor & was informed of it not being submitted. I went through the process again & again. Each time there was a different excuse for being denied. I gave them docs. For each excuse in support of my case & yet still denied. I even had "mod. Lawyers" help me with the paperwork to show affordability & still denied. My lawyers are appealing it. I have been informed that I am now going into foreclosure, no date set as of yet. So, I would like to know what my options are as to be able to keep my house, pref.(with a lower payment) or can I sell (for the equity) before a date is set?
