How much home can I get approved for on a $30,000 salary?
I'm a single male, full time Firefighter in Texas on a 30k/year salary (because of overtime, i have never made less than 32k). My take home is, give or take, 1700/month. I have never rented or owned before, I lived in my Parent's place since they moved out, but since they recently moved back, I want my privacy. Now as for credit, I'm OK. I've never been late on a payment and I have a somewhat long history, but I do have 7k in credit card debt which is 97 percent usage… I know it's alot, but please keep reading, lol. My plan right now is to use my income and saved money to knock my credit card usage to less than 50percent (30 if possible), I'm also about to finish a $4k personal loan which will free up 200/month in bills. By the time I apply to buy a home, I will be paying $410/month on my vehicle (I owe 11k from 25k), about $200 in credit cards, and that's it. I will keep that trend for about 6 months before looking to apply. My insurance and phone bills are under my Dads name, since we do Family bundles, and although I pay my part, it's still not under my name. Have been on workers comp since January on a knee injury, but as soon as I get back I will be starting a part time job as an EMT too, don't know if that helps, lol. Any advice and answers are appreciated!

Will closing 1 out of 7 credit cards (all in good standing) harm my credit score?
I had 7 credit cards, a home mortgage and debt on only 1 card. I close a credit card that I hadn't used in 2 years and opened 3 years ago because the bank twice sent the replacement to the incorrect address. Tired of that and worried it would end up in unsafe hands I closed it. I wasn't using it anyway. So, I'm worried my credit score (which is 809) will take a hit because of this. I've been told not to cancel credit cards but in this case felt it was the safe thing to do in case someone got it and activated it. Thanks for any helpful information.

Do Clydesdale ever allow extensions on consent to let mortgages?
I have consent to let which was for 2 years whilst I was away on an international assignment with my employers. My employer has told me I need to stay another 6 months. I need to give my current tenants some notice 2 months. So the way it is working they will be beyond my consent to let date, o you think either Clydesdale could approve a 6 month extension or at least 2 months to help me cover the tenancy, unfortunately we had a gap in 2 tenancies so it s thrown the dates out a bit as both were 12 month leases

How to apply for loan for graduate school?
I was fortunate not to use loans during undergrad. Graduate school is more expensive and I do not have that luxury anymore. My dad makes too much for government loans, however, we have two mortgages so it does siphon a lot of his income. I am worried about the interest rate for a private loan. I believe we can afford to pay part of the semester's tuition. Perhaps $8,000 and we are probably left with $7000.

UK: How do I find a good lawyer for financial abuse?
I get DLA but I don't actually get the money. It is paid to my mother against my consent. I have NO income. At first she said that she paid for everything anyway so I would just have to take it out and give it to her. The problem is that I have no help, no care, and no support. The only things she pays for are the weekly food shop (I checked receipts for 12 weeks and what I eat averages out at ã35 per week), and a family holiday to literally the cheapest caravan she can find. I would happily pay for these if I had the money which is to care for me in the first place. Dad pays for council tax, mortgage (not now but did), gas, electricity, water, internet, and home phone. He gets no money from his wife for those. She puts it into premium bonds and has said that the only way I will get my own money is when she dies. Not only has she been stealing my only income for the last 11 years, she has been paid for holding it. I want the DLA from the last 7 years (I wanted it paid to me when I was 20. It should have been paid to me from 16. She told me to say that I would spend it all on video games and that I shouldn't be trusted with it). I have asked many times and she said I will only get it after she has died and I should thank her for "saving" it for me because I would just waste it on clothes (I only have 2 pairs of jeans, and almost everything came from a charity shop 50p rail).
TL;DR: Mom steals my benefits, gets paid for it, I want my money paid to me.

What do I input in the 'Property Value' box on shared ownership house?
What do I input in the 'Property Value' box on shared ownership house?
Added (1). Mortgage "property value" on a ã180,000 house when I'm only buying a ã45,000 (25%) share of a shared ownership house. Do I put ã180,000 or ã45,000 in the property value box.
As I'll be paying rent on the bit I do not own anyway which is 75%, so surely that's nothing to do with the mortgage company?
Thanks.

How does getting a credit card raise credit score?
I will be needing a car loan before the end of the year. My score is 639. I have no mortgages and no outstanding loans or debt. I have never owned a credit card. It is frustrating that having no debt or current loans negatively affects my score. It s like being punished for being financially responsible. How fast and how much would getting a credit card and paying it off every month improve my score? I need to find a way to improve my score in a short amount of time.
