I tried to get a HAMP loan on 2 properties. I have a 1st mortgage with 21k due and a 2nd with 7k due. These were both investment properties. My mother is in a nursing home so luckily I can live in her house. I received a lawyers letter offering to file bankruptcy. Is this the best route? Should I try to sue the banks? They would only offer a short sale. Thanks in advance for the advise.
