Question about Data Protection - Data was lost at mortgage advisor?

To cut a long story short - a UK estate agent who I shall not name, were the mortgage renewal team sorting out my mortgage (not with them) it was just a package that they offered when we bought the house.

So one of they staff was dealing with my mortgage trying to get a good renewal policy, he told me "you don't need to renew until next year" turns out I did as I contacted the mortgage company I was with.

Then even more odd was the fact I gave him all my VERY confidential information when he was supposed to be getting a good renewal, he ends up leaving the company, and now the company says all my data has gone missing… National insurance number payslips p45 etc

Surely this is a massive GDPR breach. Not only do i expect the £350 back which is what the service cost but what else I'm still unsure of, very annoyed with them.
Added (1). Their actual words were 'blank' no longer works with us and we can't seem to find the informtation (paper copies and EMAIL) you gave him. "There's just a shell left"

I'm in process of dealing with a complaint with them.

How do I change my career path I want to make a drastic change?

Dear,

I was hoping for some guidance in regards to changing my career path. I started working at the age of 14 I have had three jobs all for big name company's Pizza Hut, Jet 2 and Lloyds Bank. I started working for Lloyds in 2014 when I decided to leave jet 2 after finding out me and my fiancé were having a little boy. I went back to work after 9 months to full time and have been able to work my way up to a good place within the bank earning 25k. There's only one problem. I'm not passionate about my job and I'm desperate to change my career. Me and my fiancé have been saving for a mortgage we have saved a total of £14k and will soon be ready to get on the property ladder. I know it's a bad idea to do this now but I can't wait any longer I'm so miserable in my work and I really want an opportunity I have thought for a long time on what I want to do. I would love to work as a health visitor but I don't know where to start or if this is ever going to be possible. I want to say I enjoy my job. I want to say i make a difference to people's lives. This is the only part of my life I want
to change.

How can I get my earnest money back?

We went to mediation but still he didn't release. What should I do? Thank you for advise

My father's will is a bit confusing. My question is at the end of the details?

1st it says my sister is the executor of the will.

2nd it says my two sisters get the house in NJ and that I get the house in NY.

3rd it says that all remaining property gets divided up between my sisters. (Its not specific on what)

4th ClausE it says it's up to the executor to lease mortgage or sell at their discretion any and all personal property thats left after the houses are written to all children. (The property is not specified so I can only assume that it means the property that's upstate New York, which is an empty lot, and all of the jewelry which is close to 50 thousand dollars).

5th Claus changes the first clause and names me the executor.

6th Clause says the executor can't collect Commission.

7th class says that all bills must be paid and that it is up to the executor pay them using the estate.

8th Clause talks about how if the executor dies then who becomes the executor.

9th says that there were no other children besides these three and that he disowns and disinherits anyone else that claims to be his children.

10th Clause says that any anybody who tries to contest this will losses everything.

Now since 5th Clause replaces the 1st and names me the executor, does that mean that the fourth Clause replaces the third for all remaining property? Do I now have to sell all the jewlery and property not specifically listed to pay the bills for the estate? In order to pay the bills for the estate? Are all the old Clauses replaced by new ones?

Can I be approved for FHA home loan with a new full time job in another state I haven't started?

So I live in California with my husband and we want to move up to Washington buying our first home. If my husband gets the fulltime job he applied for up there could we immediatly be approved for an FHA loan using THAT job as income? He currently has a job down here that's only part time but makes way more than enough to pay off the home monthly payments. If that makes a difference. Thanks!

Can I qualify for FHA loan with part-time job and a cosigner/borrower?

So my husband and I want to move up to Washington, and being that we don't currently live there but want to buy a home (rather deal with renting) its a bit tricky to find a full time job, so my husband is going to transfer his current part-time job over there. I know FHA do not want part-time positions as source of income, but we have a cosigner that is willing to help us increase our chances of eligibility, to which they have excellent credit and a high paying full-time job. Will having a co-signer/borrower make FHA lenders look at both of the sources of income combined, to where we could be approved, even with just part-time jobs. Mind you, the house is super cheap so we literally only need one minimum wage job for the payment to equal only 30 percent of that one income… Do you think we would be approved? Thanks a lot.

Question about credit and loans?

I'm kinda newish to the credit game (about a year). I have a credit of around 720. I was talking to my sister who had told me that, without a small loan of some sort, and paying it off (not all at once) then it doesn't matter if I have a good credit score or even amazing credit score… That not having a loan history deems you history-less and therefore when I need a mortgage for a house, the bank will look at my history and turn me down (most likely) for a loan.

Buying a 2 family house investment property?

I'm not actually going to buy it, but it's essentially my dream house at a good price. A person making at least $50-60k could reasonably afford it.

Hypothetically, if I bought a 2 family home in the future and I rented out the addition for $1000 a month including electric, gas, water, and heat… Would it be worth it? Given that I could already afford the mortgage by myself. I would really be looking for around $300 extra income per month. I would pick my tenant based on a 600-700+ credit score and ask for 3 reference forms to be filled out by past landlords, employers, or educational references. It would be a one page reference form (rate applicant on 3-5 areas, answer a couple short answer questions, sign it, leaving contact information if needed).

My security deposit would be $700. If requested, tenants could split up the deposit by paying $300 upfront and do $100 monthly installments with rent to pay off the rest. One pet would be allowed. Additional pets would be allowed for an extra $200 non-refundable deposit. If allowed by law, I would give tenant one time $100 off rent for passing a yearly inspection where no significant property damage is found (probably around the holidays).
Added (1). I don't really have much risk tolerance, so I probably won't ever do this. But this is basically how I would like to approach it if I did.

Take this as a 99% hypothetical question.
Added (2). Maxi is taking this very seriously for a hypothetical question.

"… Who has no idea what the JOB entails". Right, because you're assuming I've done absolutely zero research on this topic and would do no further research if ever I got more serious about it.

Question about getting a mortgage for a house?

Long story short… Me and my husband are selling our house and moving out of state (so new jobs). He has atm a 45k salary, i have a 25k salary. We're moving into a friends house until we establish new jobs. We will have a substantial down payment of around 40k from the house we're currently selling. I'm wondering if we would be allowed a mortgage from the bank (both have good credit) if we have only had 'new' jobs for about a year…

Did I get the best possible deal?

Here is my situation.

I have Asperger Syndrome.
My Mom died when I was 15.
My Dad died when I was 30.

I used to receive $889 per month social security disability.

Here's happened after a while.

I got tired of not having.
I got tired of selling plasma to maintain a cheap apartment, nearly unfurnished.

Here is what I did to improve my life.

I saved up my Disability checks, my paychecks from the sheltered workshop and the money from selling plasma.

And I got my driver's license.

I signed up to drive for Uber and Lyft, and I started selling Nike sneakers and tee shirts on Amazon and E bay, and my own brand of tee shirts called "Boardwalk".

Here is what I did with the money that I make from doing that.

Because of my totally f)ucked up and unusual background related to me having a disability.
Nobody is going to give me proper a loan with a mortgage.

So I got a rent to own house…
$350,000 house…
and I paid for a car, cash money.

Can one Mortgagor also be a Guanator for another Mortgagor? BC Lawyers

Long story here -- I'm a fairly new conveyancer and I recently bought a modular home with my mom. My mom has recently been discharged from bankruptcy so there was no way she was going to be approved for a mortgage. She came up with most of the down payment (she put in $22k, I put in $5k) and "gifted" it to me so that I could get approved for a mortgage. We bought this place so that she could have a place to live comfortably and not have to work herself to death. She s almost 60; has severe arthritis in her hips, shoulders, and neck; and she does housekeeping 3-4 days a week to make ends meet. Anyway, deal closes and my mom and I are ecstatic. However, the park landlord will not let anyone who is not a registered owner live in the park unless it's for caretaking purposes. I don't know what I can do. My mom won't be approved for a mortgage and she needs a place to live in the meantime. I doubt this is possible, but is there any way I can add my mom to the mortgage AND be her guarantor? To elaborate, I would still be taking the full risk (being on the mortgage myself and also covering her liability) and it would just be so she could be added as an owner on the MHR. I know it's up to the bank whether they would be willing to do that--but, legally, is it possible? If not, is there ANYTHING I can do? Please help!

Mortgage declined due to 2nd application?

Me, my brother and our 2 partners are looking to take out a 4 person mortgage on our first property together. We've found a place at a good price and so booked in to see the mortgage advisor and get an aip. We found out soon after we had passed and appointed the solicitor. Now the hard part, after much debacle and the advisor going on holiday for two weeks we got back in to sign the final application as we passed the aip 3 weeks prior. Now after 3 weeks our application was rejected. Now during the application the advisor didn't understand why the form hadn't auto filled out but went ahead and filled in the form anyway.

After leaving i have checked my credit score the next morning and I chose to ring experian who seem the most reliable and they have informed me that the mortgage advisor has actually accidentally submitted a further 2 applications in our names as if we were buying multiple properties which were then all rejected and as such we now have too many declines on our names. Experian have stayed it can take up to two years for a decline to leave your name. We tried to ring the estate agent before they closed but couldn't get through so have to wait till tomorrow now.

What can be done in this situation. I know credit score is a pretty rigid thing so even with human error it can't be corrected all that easy. What bits and pieces do we need. To arm ourselves before going in tomorrow or is it fighting a loosing battle?

Deceased husbands boat loan in Illinois?

My dad passed away unexpectedly last December and he had purchased a boat the year before under his name only. There's a lengthy loan left and when my mom was working with the probate lawyer, she couldn't decide if she wanted to try to keep the boat OR completely let it go since the loan was not in her name. Her lawyer advised that she keep making payments and hold off on sending in the death certificate until she could figure out her financial situation. She sold their house and needs to get financed for a new home loan. At this point, she does not think keeping the boat is a great idea. There are approximately 10 years of payments left on a 70,000 purchase. She is concerned that because she's been sending in payments for 9+ months, that now somehow the lenders will find her responsible for the boat. She's embarrassed to approach her lawyer and say that she doesn't want it anymore and ask for new advice. Will she indeed be found responsible for this loan since she's been paying on it? She was not a co-signer on the loan, but the checks made out to the lender have always come from her own checking account. (My parents had their own accounts except for 1 joint checking and a mortgage)
Added (1). I should add that all of his other debt did not come back to haunt her. His truck was repo'd within a month and she was never expected to assume his credit card debts.

How to ask parents for help to buy first home?

I'm looking at moving out of my parents house as I have put it off for far too long and I feel I need to move on with my life.

I told them at the new year this would be the year I moved out and so I have been researching properties in my town as well as looking at mortgage eligibility.

The properties (two bed terraced houses) I have looked at are around £170K to £190K. If my calculations are correct I need around £60k for the deposit. I could put £40k towards the deposit but would be happier if it was closer to £30k as this would leave a little bit of money for the legal costs, furnishings and utilities etc.

I have seen a house I like but I feel it may be overpriced at £185K as other houses sold in the local area have either had three bedrooms, a garage or both and have sold for less in recent months. This one is a two bed property with parking space at the front of the property and a private parking space across the road. My ball park figure is £170k as this seems slightly more than houses of a similar nature but accounts for it being a slightly newer house (1994). Does this seem a fair price?

8 years ago my parents gave my sister £15k but house prices were much cheaper then. It is written in their will that she owes this so when they die if she hasn't paid it back it gets taken from her share of their house.

I'm worried about how to approach them to breach the topic and am also worried what my sister will say if they lent me the money.

Any advice is welcome.

Help me create an estimated budget, narrow down the numbers a bit, and tell me what I might be forgetting, or if you think I?

… Might be way off on some numbers?

I'm trying to figure out what would be a living wage, the required net take-home pay to be able to live without any welfare…

Monthly expenses I would have in a 2 or 3 bedroom place…

Mortgage, Taxes, & Insurance = 1,000 - 1,500
Home Repairs = 100 - 200
Misc Home Purchases = 50 -100
Furniture and Appliances = 150 - 250
Yard Care = 150 - 200
Maid Service = 175 - 250
Electric = 250 - 325
Water = 200 - 250
Cable/Internet = 150 - 175
Phone = $75
Car Loan = 200 - 250
Car Insurance = 100 - 150
Car Repairs = 75 - 100
Gas for one person = 50 - 75
Hygiene & Cleaning for 1 person = 50 - 75
Clothes and Towels for 1 person = 25 - 50
Food for 1 person = 650 - 800
Health Expenses for 1 person = 125 - 150
Dental Expenses for 1 person = 25 - 50
Emergencies for 1 person = 200
Misc Spendings for 1 person = 200
Retirement Plan Investments = 500?
(Looking to have at least 1/2 million in 25 years)
Added (1). I've gotten several quotes from yard and maid companies. Those numbers aren't way high, maybe a little. What else do you think is a luxury? I see everything else that I listed as a necessity.

Is it better to save cash for down payment or add a coborrower with higher debt/lower credit but has additional income?

My boyfriend of 7 years and I are looking to purchase our first home. He was approved for a mortgage with just his income & stellar credit, but we're not satisfied with the amount. We're looking to get approved for an additional $30-50k.
I'm a graduate student with some income, mediocre credit, & student loan debt.
Without knowing all of the details, would it be better for us to open a joint bank account where we can both start putting money away to use for a down payment? Or should we add me to the application regardless of my situation to get a higher amount? Or should I start saving cash & gift it to him as a down payment?

Is it possible to get more money from a home equity loan or to get another one?

I'm asking on behalf of my mother. I told her to just go ask the bank where she has her loan but I'm curious. She took out her first loan on the house many years ago and then paid it off completely.

Then she took out a home equity loan 10 years ago on the house on which she still owes 75k.

Now she's in serious debt and can't file for bankruptcy because they'll just take the house. Can she edit this loan to take out more against the house? Zillow currently says it's worth 210k.

I have read that a third mortgage is rare and that "refinancing" is usually done to get loans smaller not bigger.

Sorry I'm not more well versed on this subject

What is my sister doing?

My sister has just got a mortgage with her boyfriend of 4 years.
She was previously married and it didn't work out, he ended it and she's never got over it and I think she will always love that man who has now moved on and got remarried with children.
I recently got married myself and she showed no interest in my wedding, just resentment and I've not even seen her since my big day, if I text her I only get a sentence back, if I'm lucky.
A work colleague of my husband took a shine to her at my wedding and I told her he liked her and I've since found out they've been Facebook messaging each other for months, he showed me the long messages and she has told him all about a big promotion at work, her previous marriage etc and almost leading him on…
I feel annoyed she is telling a stranger everything and making so much effort towards him but doesn't care at all about me, her only sister. She's also clearly not thinking about her boyfriend either!
Why is she doing this?

Can I take out a reverse mortgage if I own a rental property?

I'm concerned as I'm getting older I may need more money. I have social security & an income I receive from a rental. Will I still be able to qualify if I have the rental & remain living in the house I have? Both my houses are paid for.
Added (1). I can't sell the rental because I depend on this income, plus I'd be hit up big time with capital gains. I'm asking about a reverse mortgage on the house I live in.
Added (2). I'm talking about taking out the reverse mortgage on my PRIMARY RESIDENCE I've lived in 16 years, not taking it out on my rental house.
Added (3). It appears like none of you understand I live in the house I'm asking about taking the reverse mortgage on, and it's not a good idea at all for me to sell my rental with income I depend on, and then also pay capital gains. What about this don't you understand?
Added (4). Simply just can't seem to understand the income I have coming in from rental is income I depend on. Selling this property would make me lose this income, plus pay capital gains. Look up what interest is nowadays. Simply needs a guardian to help to think rationally! It's sad anyone could be this dumb.

What happens to a house asset in this situation?

Applying for a mortgage and have made 65k for the past 2 years

I'm a truck driver and I'm applying for a mortgage. I see a house I like for $200,000. My gross checks usually average around $1300 a week, but it's a slow month right now and am only making $900 gross a week. My two previous w2's are at 65k gross. This year will also be around 65k. Will I be denied a loan for a 200k house if I'm making $900 gross right now? My credit is over 700 and have no debts whatsoever.

What is the financial benefit of rent-vesting?

I hear a lot of people going on about "rent-vesting", where you buy a house, rent it out to other people, and you rent out another place to live in.

What is the advantage of this over buying a house to live in? Isn't is possibly more costly, since you may be spending more money on paying rent when you could be paying off more of the mortgage instead?
Added (1). @Pascal the Gambler - I didn't say you wouldn't be paying off the mortgage; I'm saying that you could be able to pay off MORE mortgage. And also, I think there's a risk that the rent you get paid will not always be enough to cover the mortgage payments anyway, so then you have to take out your own money, AND pay for the rent for the place you are also living in.

If you have equity in your house, can you still be turned down for an equity line of credit? I just ch?

I just checked my Fico score and it showed I have a score of only 700… Which I know is not good. I went through a rough patch where my some of my bills were late so my credit took hit. My house is worth around $800K and I have a mortgage of $440K. I wanted to apply for an ELOC but don't really know how it works. Do I automatic qualify because I have equity in my house or is it base on my credit score? Thank you in advance for any response.

Should I cancel the amount owing to me by parents (they owe at least $7000)?

I'm a 21-year-old who lives with my parents and siblings who helps pay for groceries, bills, gasoline (for their cars) and whatever my siblings want. I have added up how much both my parents owe me in total but it doesn't seem right because I'm also consuming the groceries, adding to the utility bills, being dropped off at various locations with my parents vehicles, and that I do not pay a single cent to the mortgage even though I live with parents when I'm 21 already. Both parents over the years have paid for my education (my school didn't really educate me), paid for my clothes and uniforms, paid to put a roof over my head, paid to put food on the table, paid the utility bills, and who brought me into this world.

I'm thinking of dropping their $7000 debt if their is a justified reason why I should drop it.
