Can past debts affect my mortgage appliation in Britain? How far back do they look in your debt history?

Between 2005 and 2007 I got in a huge amount of debt with loan companies, catalogues, etc. I was thousands of pounds in debt. I never paid one penny back.
Bailiffs looked for me but never found me. I changed address and number. I didn't care. I was partying a lot back then and was never in one place for too long.
But today I care, I got children to look after and a good permanent job to keep.
I want a mortgage to buy a house.

Ex Wife's Name on Title Deeds?

I bought a piece of land 30 years ago and my ex wife's name was on the title deeds. We divorced and I gave her a mortgage free house, taking all the debt with me. I did not realise her name was on the deeds until last year. I have a house and other buildings on the land now and have multiplied it's value. It is clear in the affidavit that she also thought the field was solely in my name. The issue is now going to court. Does she have any ownership in this situation?

When applying for a personal loan, what do I claim my expenses are?

My partner and I own a house (the mortgage is in both our names) and our monthly expenses, which we split evenly, total about $1300 combined.

If I apply for a small personal loan under my own name and they ask what my expenses are (mortgage, utilities, etc.) can I say it's half of the $1300 (since I only pay half) or do I have say my expenses are $1300 ?
Added (1). I should also add - I'm not applying for the loan through the same bank that has our mortgage

What can I do to convince my dad to retire when his business keeps losing money?

He used to borrow money from his dad to keep his business afloat and to pay his mortgage. The business has never been successful.

Now he keeps having to extend the line of credit on his and my mom's house to keep his business afloat. If they sold the house (valued at about $1 million) and moved into a smaller house, they wouldn't have money problems. The house and property are commercially zoned so the business would have to fold too.

However, he says that he would rather have a stroke behind the wheel of his truck than retire and that if he didn't have his business his life would have no meaning. He's 66. My mom is upset and hates the stress of constantly being in debt and not having money for groceries

Can you ever get back together with your ex husband?

I'm divorced but I'm still friends with my ex husband. When we were married he worked and put me through college. My ex husband used his contacts in business to find me the ideal job when I graduated from college. I did well in that job and got promoted several times.

I recently received an inheritance and I felt a moral obligation to repay my ex husband some of the money he spent on putting me through college. I gave my former husband $50,000 from my inheritance. He did not want to take it but I insisted. Then something happened that just blew me away.

I got a letter that my condo mortgage of $50,000 had been paid in full. I could not figure out how that happened until I remembered that my ex husband was still on the mortgage. The bank told me he came in with a cashiers check for $50,000 and paid off my mortgage. Now I have a house free and clear.

My single girlfriends that I told about this wanted to know if I would be upset if they dated him. They said he sounds like a GREAT GUY and they can't understand why I had divorced him. I'm now giving a lot of thought of trying to get back together with him. I think I made a BIG mistake divorcing him. I was very young when we divorced. I'm MUCH more mature now.

What do you think of my odds of getting back with him.

If market interest rates tripled would you personally be better off or worse off?

In other words you can now put your savings in a bank and make triple the return. Fixed mortgages will stay the same

Unless you're very very stupid and have ccdebt or car debt or college debt or medical when you could have found care within your means,

I assume most of you want higher not lower interest rates. So why is the Fed not raising em faster?

Owner finance, did my lender screw me?

Basically i want to pay it earlier, i was told by him the lender that its an open contract. In my head meant that i could pay extra and knock couple years off my mortgage, but supposedly him what ever i pay extra he adds it to the last payments of the loan not to the acual principal.
So basically paying extra to principal its actually paying extra to the whole complete interest and all of the principal so no saving money anywhere just time. Someone that knows how to read attorney words, I've read them i can't understand them.
thanks for the help, i apologize for the grammar.

Universal credit questions?

I've been signed off work since May due to ongoing mental health issues. Back in October my pay was decreased to statutory sick pay and my employer hinted that they may have to dismiss me, which is fair I guess. I'm no good to the company in fairness. So I signed on. I've had no end of issues with it though. The first was when they paid me a penny and told me to spread my SSP further. I use the SSP to pay my rent and mortgage because they haven't sorted out the housing payments yet. My parents buy me food at the minute. Then my work coach basically said that he wanted me to show more of what I'm doing to prepare for work and to earn universal credit, but I'm signed off at present and awaiting a work capability assessment. I have no idea what to do and feel out of my depth. I've had two nervous breakdowns during all of this. Has anyone else got any advice. My boyfriend has moved in with me to be my main carer.

Can someone put an apartment under their name for me?

I'm asking because I have a home I'm purchasing now and have been for 2 years but am in the process of divorce and want to sell my house. I co-signed for my ex-wifes nephew and he left the apartment which is now on my credit and I've been to a couple of complexes that have turned me down due to this being on my credit. I was wanting to know if I can get my sister to put the apartment under her name and me stay there and pay the rent so I can clear all this up on my credit. I have a good job and know I can pay it because I've been paying my mortgage on time for the past 2 years but is it possible to have the apartment put under her name.

Should I rent all my life or buy a house?

I rent which is 600 a month but my friends tell me I'm just throwing my money away. I love my apartment, the area, and my landlord let's me do whatever to the apartment except major renovations which I wouldn't do anyway. I've been here for 5 years, and already made it my own by painting and everything. Water and trash are included, I have great renters insurance and just love everything. I can't imagine leaving. I know in the long run you end up owning a home when buying, but what if I lose my job and can't pay the mortgage? Or get sick and can't work, or the house burns down? You never know! At least with renting I can just pick up and leave wherever and whenever until I can find another place. Plus committing to a 30 year mortgage payment freaks me out. I already have a 10 year student loan I'm still paying on. I don't know, any other pros and cons I should know about? AND I don't have to do yard maintenance, always have my own parking, a pool I don't have to clean, walking distance to work and shopping, it's like my own little world! And if I ever decide to have kids I might consider buying or just renting a bigger place.

It's nice to be needed but?

I'll try to keep this short. I come from a large family. 6 other siblings. I'm 49 and I have a twin brother. He and I use to communicate / text often up until a few months ago when he blasted me to our entire family in a group text. Since then he and I haven't spoken much at all. He subsequently had to move back home with our parents because his second wife found out that he was cheating on her and despite all the advice I gave him he wouldn't stop. The stopped paying their mortgage, had to sell their house they built from the ground up, and have now split. He's back home with our parents sleeping on their sofa. When the house was sold he walked away with $26,000. Instead of trying to find an apartment he took $17,000 and bought a used Chevy Tahoe. He had a Trailblazer that there was nothing wrong with and just gave it to his son, in an attempt to keep up with the Jones' at his church. Ok, him and my 3 older brothers are living at home with our parents.

My sister just text me saying that my mom wanted me to come by their house when I get off work to reset something. Their power went out due to the winter storm in our area and it just came back on and something is beeping. I work out of state and it takes me about an hour to get home. I don't mind helping my parents out but with 3 other grown men at home aged 49 and up, why do I need to go by there? Yes, my mom relies on me for stuff like this because I tend to be the one who can fix things.
Added (1). My brother even sent out a text saying that he was going to go to a hotel if the power didn't come back on soon because our mom had gone out and bought a couple a kerosene heaters and he didn't want his clothes smelling like kerosene. I have a suggestion, if you don't want your clothes smelling like kerosene, get your own place.

I don't mind being needed and helping my parents out but is this a bit much? 3 grown men there and she calls me. I'm flattered but seriously.

Will I Receive Higher Tax Refund in 2019?

Married, filing jointly, combined net income of $175,000. Last year we received about $3,500 from Federal. Live in NJ. All things the same as last year except that we have been homeowners for entire 2018 (have paid mortgage interest of about $10,000 and taxes of about $5,000). The mortgage loan is about $290,000. All things the same as last year other than the mortgage interest and taxes paid, should we expect a higher tax return that we can deduct these from our income. Will we receive a lot more $ from tax return, a little, probably be the same?

Thanks

My husband is self employed and suffered a bad accident 2 months ago, he is just back to work now.
We have three children and one due next month and its all come at such a bad time.
Having to cover £1500 per month on mortgage, food, council tax and utilities means I'm left with barely enough money to eat, some days as little as £5 to feed all 5 of us with no money for fuel.
The added pressure of xmas and I'm really struggling at the moment.

Where can my family apply for affordable health insurance?

The deadline for open enrollment is December 15th. My husband s job does not offer health insurance. My job only offers AFLAC (supplemental health insurance). We have a 3 year old son that definitely needs coverage, and I see my doctor every other month.
We went through healthcare.gov last year and currently pay $127.47/mo for health insurance that covers the 3 of us. I believe our deductible is $6,000… Crazy I know, but it's all we could afford. We did not meet that deductible this year (knew we wouldn t) and every time we see a Dr I pay at least $85 if not more.
So of course we have to sign up for a new plan for 2019 (they arnt going to carry this one anymore). The cheapest one healthcare.gov offers JUST my husband & me is $233/mo with a $9,900 deductible! This is not including coverage for our son! *We have to prove that the state will not cover him first before they will quote him* How do ppl afford this?! Why does no one talk about this? Do I have any other options? Someone Please help me!
We both work fulltime, no state assistance. We make roughly $58,000 year combined. We have a mortgage, 1 car payment. We live modestly and on a budget. Can anyone give me advice here? Are there other places to apply? Does everyone pay this much and not complain? Is it just me?

Why is it cheaper to pay rent for a property than it is to buy it and pay a mortgage?

Why I asked is I'm tryna find out how landlords make a profit if the mortgage repayment for the place is more than the rent they are collecting?

I've been doing a bit of research over the past few weeks and during the process realised that the price to buy a house, when you subtract down payment and do the loan calculation accurately to get the monthly mortgage payment, the amount is way more than you can charge for rent. So am I missing something? I'm trying to get into real estate.

Ok well myself and my boyfriend have been going out for 3.5 years. He has always had the better job with good money and i have always had poor wages and been in debt. He has recently sold his flat and made nearly 50k from it. He Suggested we get a mortgage together he would pay my side of the deposit and i could pay him back as at the time i could not afford it. 6 months on and i'm struggling with paying him back and my own debts to credit cards. Its making me very depressed and bitter that he has so much in his bank and i'm living pay cheque to pay cheque. My sister has said i shouldnt be paying him back as couples are supposed to help each other out and it gets me thinking about the future how he would be? I'm not sure what to think anymore as he knows how depressed the money situation is making me. I also feel he should of at least treated us to something ie a small holiday which i would of done in a heart beat given that money. Am i wrong in thinking this way? Are we protected under fair housing act when applying for a mortgage loan with a decrease in yearly income from previous years because FMLA?

We're currently in the process of buying a new build home. In order to do so we have to get approved through the housing developments lender.

Their lender will not approve us because my husbands income declined from the last two years previous.

The decline in income is due to the FMLA he took for baby bonding after our son was born.

He has been back to work for 6 months now and was paid disability while he was off

The disability pay was a fraction of his normal income but they won't accept that as income.

Furthermore, we have been approved for the loan amount from the broker selling our current home because she is going off of his normal weekly 40 hour pay. Including his vacation he makes through his union contract.

The lender denying us will not subtract his time off-10 weeks, when calculation his current yearly income, which had he not took off time would be the same if not more than previous years.

This is very frustrating to be approved through another person but the housing development will only allow us to reserve a lot of their lender agreed with ours.

And we're being told that our decline in income is the reason we can't be approved. There has to be protection for those who take FMLA.

Need advice!
