When applying for an FHA loan could I use a PO Box as an address?

I don't need anyone in my house to know yet that I'm working on getting a house. This is why I'd be using a PO box.

Would you be able to do this without running into any problems at the bank?

Real Estate - I brought a property with my girlfriend at the time, we're no longer together. She lives there and pays the mortgage?

We brought the property a few years ago. She lives there and pays all of the bills for the property.
I tried to get a loan for another property so I could live in but the bank will not give me a loan because of the loan I already have for the property my ex lives in. We're both on the loan.
Is there's any way I could put the property as an investment property? Therefore lowering my debt to income ratio. Selling at the moment is not an option because she is not selling and she won't be approved for a separate loan to keep the home. Any help will be gladly appreciated.

How to transfer a family loan into a mortgage?

I want to buy a house and I'm wondering if there's any way I can transfer a family loan to the mortgage. After being approved I can buy a house but if you can offer cash prices are better. I'm wondering if there's any way I can use cash from a family member to buy the house then pay them back with a loan or mortgage? Meaning get the money from a 30 year loan/mortgage and pay them back.
They have the funds to buy it up front. But I can get a mortgage. I could get the house cheaper if I can offer cash. In any matter a mortgage is needed so is there a better way to do this so I can work a large loan into the mortgage to pay someone back for the purchase of the house?
Thanks
Added (1). Clarification, I get the house today with their money because of cash purchase. But I set up the mortgage payment for the house a few months after purchase and get the bulk chunk to pay them back their entire amount from the bank just like if I was going to pay the seller. Is this possible? Websites say no.
Example. I want to get mortgage for $200000 6 months from purchase date and pay family member who gives me $200000 cash for house purchase today. Pay them the $ the bank gives to pay seller

Can a House Payment be this Low?

(This may be a stupid question but I'm stupid, 18, and this is my first time doing this so please bear with me) Okay, so I'm looking at some super cheap options for homes and I found some for about $30,000 USD and on the website it estimated my monthly payments to be about $142. I then went to a mortgage calculator and did the same and it also pulled the same number. Will I realistically be able to pay just $142 per month for a home?

How to explain credit score to employer?

I have a job interview tomorrow, and the temp agent who got it for me is sure I'll get if I perform as well in this interview as I did in the first. The job is just a basic full time call center customer assistant.

For some reason they'll be checking my credit, and I'm panicking because I technically don't have any, I have never had a credit card. If it's done by my address, it will come back awful because my parents are terrible at paying off their mortgage, and are constantly ignoring letters about said payments.

Is there anything I can do about this, or am I going to have to sit there and have them tell me what I already know?

Thanks, L.

Dental school at 31?

I live in Texas and have a job where I make about $115k gross.

But I've always thought about dental school. I haven't applied so even if I got in, I'd probably be 32, but 2 years ago I finished any science pre-reqs that I would need to apply. I had a M.Ed in psych 2010 but not enough sciences.

My two big questions:
1. Is 31 too old to go back to dental school?
2. I have a mortgage with monthly payment of about $2300. Would I be able to afford to live in my house?

Buying a 25,000$ House?

I don't know **** about buying a house but here s the information I've gathered up, and I'm wondering if its possible.

First off I'm 20, my credit score is 600.

The house I'm looking at costs$ 25,000 with a down payment of $5,000 and monthly mortgage of $105.

If I have the $5,000 for the down payment would I still need a bank loan? Is there additional costs I'm not aware of?

And also does the $105 go towards paying off the rest of the 25k?

Sorry if these are stupid questions, I have no help with this and would appreciate any advice, tips and tricks!

In the UK is it true that some mortgages are void due to the banks failing to change the wording on mortgage offers post 1989? - 1

I'm trying to sell my house and a company got in touch to say that my mortgage offer I received back in 2012 might be void. I sent a copy to them and they said that the bank had failed to change the wording in line with changes that had happened in 1989. This essentially makes it void and I'm due money back. Clearly they are going to take a few for the service. But has anyone come across this? Is it a scam? All I understand is that it's technical jargon that the average joe wouldn't even realise and solicitors wouldn't really check for it if you buy a house. Is there anything in this?

Mortgage for a house in another state?

Hi,
Can I take out a mortgage on my first (and only) home in the state that I live, work and rent an apartment, for a home in another state to be used as a vacation home? Or do I need to take out a mortgage in the same state as the house is in? This will be my first mortgage so I'm not sure how this all works. Thanks.

How much tax would I need to pay due to a lottery winning?

I won $500,000 on a numbers game. New York State took out half. Still 250,000 is not bad. Since I won it this year (20018) I don't have to claim it until next.

Our household income (gross) for the past few years have been $50,000 for the last few years. And I expect it will be about that next year as well. We get credit because of our daughter going to college and our federal refund is normally around 1500 and the state refund is normally around $750-1000.

I know I can claim gambling losses and plan to claim up to $520. I'm not into gambling that much maybe $10.00 a week.

I just want to get an idea of how much I would have to owe so I can set that money aside into a different account. I'm planning on using the money to pay off the mortgage and my daughters' college loans.
Added (1). I know I can afford a C.P.A. But I'm cheap in certain areas. I do my own taxes using Turbo Tax.
Added (2). I'm sure I will still owe during next tax season, my gross adjusted income would still be high. It can be lower if I make donations to different organizations.

Is it possible to be independent in London without help from parents financially and emotionally?

I moved out when I was 28 cos I just couldn't afford renting. I rented for three months but moved back cos the landlord raised his prices up and with my wage it wasn't enough. I worked hard since leaving school and found a man and hopefully move in together. Everything went well financially and I found a job that I loved with better pay check. We applied for a mortgage on a small two bedroom house but was turned down cos of my partner's credit score; so bad. I've always wanted to live in London and get a mortgage as I feel renting isn't worth it. So now we're continuing to rent and both our parents are helping us out to improve our credit score.

I worked very hard and moved out later in life hoping to move out without parents help. I just had this idea that I was going to be able to move out with a good job and salary without my parents help. I do have a good job and salary. I feel the more older I get even if I don't live with my parents the more financial help I need from them.

Is what this lender told me legitimate and legal when it comes to our mortgage loan?

A lender told me her could pay off our credit card debt to help boost our credit scores. He said he would do a rush to this boost. This would obviously help lower our interest rates. Then, he would roll the amount he paid off for our debt into our closing costs. Therefore, it's not a loan with interest. No other lender has given me this option. I asked about any catches with it. It really just sounds too good to be true. Is this even legal? Is it something that makes sense to anyone? Please share your thoughts.

My parents are angry at me but don't see that they did anything wrong. What do I do?

My partner and I are currently saving hard for our first home. My parents came to me and said they have been saving some money for me since I was a baby and want to help us out a bit with the deposit. It was such a wonderful surprise and gift because we've been working so hard for this.
I guess I should have known that things were too good to be true. I booked an appointment with RAMS mortgage broker and my parents insisted on sitting in on the meeting. My parents are very secretive people and anything to do with their financial situation, I can't know. I can't know anything but they said they "need" to sit in on our meeting. I got annoyed at that and told them before the meeting that I wasn't comfortable with this because what money my partner and I have is none of their business and they said "well if you don't want the money, I guess we'll just keep it." They used the money as blackmail. I was furious but I let them in on the meeting because I really do need the money.
Since that day, I've been so annoyed about what they said and did. Now they know everything to do with my partner and my finances. I'm 22 and my partner is 23 so we're not kids anymore.
My parents know why I'm upset and angry but I'm apparently a 'spoilt brat'. I haven't been yelling at them or anything, I have been keeping to myself. My mum is acting like I don't exist when I try to speak to her.

What do I do? Am I in the wrong?

Why don't the American people and new immigrants to the USA oppose employed at will contracts?

Call me a social or a Liberal Democrat, but maybe now with hindsight it was best that I never got there (and a possible disaster if I did), as I would never ever accept working under those terms and conditions that you have zero job security, stability, and above all, can just be kicked out of a job for absolutely no reason at all, with no legal redress, protections, rights, entitlements, or employment tribunals (labour courts) to bring a case to.

I enjoy permanent and protected employment in NL and how can anyone plan for the future, get a mortgage or start a family, if the employment relationship is so tenuous, and you can just be put out of a job at anytime, especially if you are over 40. You just merely live from month to month on every payday with no certainty of it you will still be in a job in four weeks time.

I also went into HR to help protect, safeguard the rights of and back up the interests of the employees, not management.

I'm pro capitalism, but it must have a certain element of control, rules of the game to help regulate and make it accountable, and above all, that the default position of the US government should be to take the side of the employee and not the employer.

How can my boyfriend and I build credit while saving money and living with my dad?

My boyfriend makes 24 thousand a year & I just started working making 22 thousand. We have been living with my dad for 4 years now & we really need to move out. We want to build credit so we can buy a house since mortgage payments on a 3-4 bedroom house in our area are actually cheaper than renting a 1-2 bedroom apartment & we want to start a family. Starting next month we'll both be saving 80 percent of our paycheck every week into a savings account for the down payment on the home plus other expenses we'll have when we move. We're giving ourselves 2 years to save at least 60 thousand. So my question is, how do we go about building credit so we can get approved for a mortgage in 2 years? Neither one of us has a credit history yet & we don't have any important expenses. All we pay for is food, going out, gifts, etc. My dad provides everything else. He pays the rent, bills, utilities, & car insurance. We can't ask for him to help us build credit by switching things over to our card when we get one & paying for things that way because we can't let him know our plans to save money & move out since he's paranoid & doesn't trust banks. He also thinks credit cards will screw us over with debt. If he knows about our plans to move out he will kick us out & if we're on our own we'll be struggling bad because one of us will be out of a job since we only have 1 car & would no longer live next to a bus station. So I'd just like to know how we can build credit in our crazy situation.

Am I doing something wrong with filing taxes?

I feel like i get screwed every year. In 2015 i bought a house and installed an energy efficient furnace, filed jointly and claimed 0. I owed 82 dollars in federal and got 300 back for the state i even went to 2 tax professionals who said everything was right. My co worker owns a home and is not married but she says she always gets 3 to 4K back every year… She does not have kids. Last year I got half of what she got (still pretty good but why don't I get 3K?) Does filing joinlty make you get less? Me and my husband claim 0 and pay interest on student loans and mortgage.

What does employed at will and such employment contracts that they have in the USA mean in practice?

Does the Boss or a Line Manager actually have the authority in practice to suddenly say "your fired" for no reason, or can one take them to a labour court if necessary?

That system would not actually work or deliver for me, because if you are over 40 and have a mortgage to pay, you are not likely to immediately get another job, and hence start getting gaps in the CV which starts to then cause a problem within itself.

I have full job security in Netherlands where people are on permanent contracts with a pension, sick pay, maternity, paternity leave and six weeks paid holiday, not including ten days public holidays from day one.

How do I go about getting power of attorney for my parents?

Does it cost money? What will it do for me? My parents tend to get very confused. My dad has some big time medical issues and mom is not going to be able to handle what's coming. I'm scared for her. I'm pretty sure she will have to sell her home and find something more suitable. I'm going to have to help. I would like access to their mortgage info, so I'm able to assist in the selling and buying of property. Also, I live out of state, so I can't go with him to his Dr. Appointments. I would like to be able to discuss my dad's condition with his health care providers. Will I be able to do this with a power of attorney?

My tax return is higher then I can remember. Is it because of Trump?

I did my taxes last night. Thanks to decent to the end declining years of Bush and especially the terrible tax codes of Obama I was expecting about $300 some dollars if I was lucky. Now I do use 1 exemption for myself. I would do no exemptions but thanks to Obama I can't write off the interest in my mortgage because the deductions were ridiculously high.

Should we ask future MIL to fund wedding?

My fiancée & I recently got engaged. My parents love me but always made it clear to their kids that if we want a college degree or wedding that they wouldn't be able to help. That's fine, I'm a court house and dinner with close family type of woman. No big fuss, no big bill. My future MIL and I get along well but she expects a wedding and my fiancée would *prefer* a wedding too. I don't mind having a small church wedding and getting a modest reception for around 20-40 people. I can use some of my savings, my fiancée is in pharmacy school and wouldn't mind using his loans to provide a little. The problem is that my MIL would like around 100 guests from her side alone. She would like to invite everyone in her small town & church that she's on good terms with. I just became debt free from student loans and I'm not going to have my fiancée spend 5k+ on a wedding when he's still in pharmacy school nor am I getting into unnecessary debt again until it's time to consider a mortgage. I have 15-20 people max I'd invite to a "big" wedding. MIL has mentioned paying for her daughter's wedding (who is still very single) as well as paying for our honeymoon (which is nice). Should I ask her to chip in considerably for a wedding that big instead of providing honeymoon? Honestly, if I didn't have a good relationship with her, I'd tell her to forget the wedding altogether but I don't want to strain things with her or put my fiancée in a tough situation even though I know he'd elope if I asked.
Added (1). Thanks guys, I cam be a very straightforward person and didn't know whether I should just tell her we're planning our own guest list or if I should offer her to chip in if she wants a say. I'm not too stressed, just trying not to burn a bridge, I want my fiance and I to have a pleasant relationship with the inlaws.

Is there a way to part-buy and part-rent a HMO?

Having spent years paying over the odds in rent, I finally have enough in capital to buy a small flat, but would like to continue living with my flatmates. They don't have similar savings so I'd look at buying the house and renting it to them, hopefully at 'mates rates' to alleviate some of the burden on them too. To do this I'd be looking at buying a 4-bed house, however this would require me to take out a mortgage. I'm still in postgraduate education so my income is relatively low and I wouldn't get accepted for a mortgage on my own. Is there a way in which I could charge a far more expensive rent to my flatmates to improve my "income", but in return give them shares in the house to offset this extra monthly payment. I.e. Rather than paying £400 pcm each, they'd pay, say, £1000, but I'd give them the equivalent of, say, £650 in shares of the house every month. Could it be done through a business perhaps, giving them shares in a business (who's only asset would be the house)? Given that they are flatmates and not family, I'd naturally be looking for a completely watertight agreement that wouldn't leave me stuck with a mortgage I couldn't pay, or an overcomplicated agreement that would lead to arguments, with risks not far exceeding those inherently involved with owning a house. Ideally I'd want everything set in stone for a fixed term of a number of years. Is such a thing possible? Practical? I hope what I've written is easy enough to follow! Any guidance is appreciated.

Retirement: do you still have to pay property taxes even if you have no mortgage? Can people actually fully 'retire'?

I was talking to my dad about retirement and he even thought about moving to a different country in the Caribbean or T least get a second home there. He said when he retires and he doesn't have a mortgage anymore. He's not too worried about paying for water, food etc. But he said people still have to pay property taxes and if you don't pay they can take your house from you. Is this true?
