What are the rules on a forecloser. For the buyer?

yesterday there was a sherrifff's sale and the 1st mortgage company only bid 15120 for the house that they were owed 67000 on. I bid 15121 and won the bid. No one else was there to bid. Does this wipe out all other debt on the house?
