Cole Hamels Trade: Bad move for Texas?


In 101.2 career regular season innings thrown in American League ballparks, Hamels has a 5.4 ERA and 1.46 WHIP. He's struck out 98 hitters in his career when pitching during the regular season in an AL park.
Pitching in the launching pad in Texas will be much different than pitching in Philadelphia -- where Hamels sports a career 3.26 ERA and 1.09 WHIP -- so anyone expecting him to drag the Rangers from mediocrity to contender status is probably going to be disappointed.

Did Jon Daniels make the right move in mortgaging the team's future for an over hyped lefty who hasn't really distinguished himself and is owed $23,500,000 for the next three years?
