What tax deductions are allowed in Michigan?

Apparently Michigan does not allow itemized deductions. This is unfortunate for me considering I was hoping to become a landlord and deduct the mortgage interest. All I know is that there is a homestead property tax credit (however, I am not entirely clear on how it works).

What other tax deductions or credits are there in Michigan? Can a landlord deduct anything?
Added (1). Judy, I kind of already figured that out as written in the very first sentence. My question was what other credits/deductions there were in Michigan. Thanks, though.
