Is it possible for me to buy a house?

I m 25 years old. I have a steady job and make 30K a year. I have a 760 credit score. Me and my fiance have been wanting to buy a house for a while now. He finally had a job for 2 years in the same field, and now he s been out of work for 2 months. He s a Banker and has been applying everywhere so he will get a job soon. His credit is great too. But by then will the time he was off affect us trying to buy a house? With both of our combined we made 70K. I want to know if I could get a loan out by myself if I can t use him. And if I can how much would I be approved for?
Added (1). I'm interested in a fha loan. Also we have 2 kids and are tired of renting. I live in South Florida. We have money saved up for the fha loan plus other costs, so money is not an issue. But I'm OK with buying a condo/townhouse.
