Where do I begin to get into real estate?

I'm 19 years old and would love to get into real estate.
I live in California. I'm not sure if that matters at this moment but I know in other states that location often does matter.
I have done nothing as of now to get started as I've made this decision not long ago.
I am at square one and am unsure of where to begin.
