I've been living in my council house for over 20 years, the council is giving me discount so I'm planning to buy the house straight cash no mortgage. My friends and family are going to give me the cash as gift, I know the council can ask me where is the money from I will tell the truth that its from relatives but are they allowed to question the people that gave me the money?
