Dad passed away 2 years ago, Step-mom trying to get me to pay for expensives on estate to sell house?

I live in Illinois and my father died without a will. My step-mom and I decided to sell the house. According to state law it is split 50/50. Anyways the house is about to close in 2 weeks and I just got an email from the real estate attorney asking if I accept to pay my step mom a crazy amount of money, like all my half. She wants me to pay 100% of the mortgage and taxes since my dad died to a fridge and carpet cleaners. It ends up being a crazy number.

I'm only in my early 20s and I can't even digest what is going on here. I'm pretty sure there isn't a law that says the child has to pay 100% of everything and I know I didn't sign anything saying I would. I'm not even sure if I'm in entitled to to half of the fees or I'm doing what is "morally" right. I can understand maybe half, but not full. I mean… A garage door opener, snow removal… What the hell? I don't live there and I didn't agree with her to install things that I find out I would need to pay for later.

I understand that I might need to contact a lawyer, and maybe this attorney can help but probably not since she represents both of us. I wanted to know if anyone off hand knew anything about this before I dive in heads first. Any advice would be more than appreciated!
