We are a couple who live together, both 26 and have £30,000 saved between us for a deposit with about £4000 after that for fees. We are looking to buy in Worthing on the south coast. We currently live in Brighton but its too expensive to buy there. Our joint salary is £41,500. Is it realistic to buy a house worth £180000? We are hoping to get somewhere that needs updating on a nice street. Is this realistic? Will it take a long time? Will we be able to get a mortgage? Thanks
