How do CEO's and such make so much money?

They make an annual salary of about aprx 150k (The higher ups generally) yet they can afford million dollar houses and fancy cars and such.
How do they make so much money?
My guess is that it would be from stocks and bonds.
But in that case, what about doctors, since they make somewhere around 100k as well.
Point is no one has a million dollar salary yet can afford million dollar stuff like where does the extra money come from?
