If my husband alone is on the title and mortgage for our house, will I receive half the equity if we divorce?

- We are in Michigan
- I've been contributing equally toward the mortgage for a few years
- Recently he created a new 15 year mortgage and refused (again) to put me on the title or mortgage
- He told me I am just a renter and will not have any rights to equity in the house if we divorce
- I said if I am just a renter I should pay a reasonable rent, so now I am paying less but this doesn't seem like a fair long-term solution
- I have near perfect credit and earn nearly as much as him so that is not the issue
