Say someone defaults on the mortgage for their home. Should they get the house foreclosed, or file for chapter 7 bankruptcy? Because when I was a kid this happened to me and I remember we filed for bankruptcy during the 2008 crisis but I'm wondering why we did this rather than getting the house foreclosed. Someone explain please?
