Can I start saving up for my own house?

I'm 18 and I work 7 days a week. O want to put aside $100 a week in a savings account. My dream is to own my own house one day. I am going to college to become a teacher and my grandmotger already has money saved for me for college. Is this a good idea or stupid idea?
