How to finance a mortgage as a barber?

I am trying to get a loan for around $60, 000 but I have only been barbering for the past 8 months as I just recently graduated school, I ve talked with a couple of lenders and they tell me they need 2 yrs of tax returns to show income as a barber even though I try explain that the whole year last year was school full time, is there no way around this or is there another specific lender I shoukd be trying?
