Legal advice for a family in Washington State?

We are a family in Washington State that has been working on a deed in lieu on our home. The mortgage company, Wells Fargo, told us we would be able to walk away then included a $68,000 promissory note as part of the final papers. A real estate lawyer told us that wasn't legal for a deed in lieu in Washington state but Wells Fargo says they can include a note for a deficiency. Does anyone know what the law in Washington state is regarding a deed in lieu and a deficiency? WF is putting legal proof on us! (They are the worst!) Can anyone give us the specific state law (RCW)? Help! Thanks!
