I just lost my home to foreclosure, it sold at auction. It's in South Orange County California.
The way my mortgage was set up was my taxes we included in my monthly mortgage payments. So the mortgage company always paid them, even when I got laid off from work & stopped paying my mortgage. Now it's sold at auction & I want to know since there was no tax lien on the house, who will pay the taxes? Or should I say pay back the mortgage co. For those taxes? Someone at the mortgage co. Told me not to worry the taxes are paid & nothing else will happen, but I want to be sure. The new owner told me I will have to pay them back. Does anyone know?
